Deforestation Costs $130 Billion Annually by 2030, EDFC Report Warns.

A report from the Environment and Development Finance Committee (EDFC) think tank has sounded the alarm on the $130 billion annual cost by 2030 to end deforestation. The study emphasized the importance of reducing deforestation to combat climate change and protect biodiversity.

According to the report, investment in reforestation programs and economic incentives for forest-dwelling communities is necessary, along with the implementation of public policies that encourage forest protection and the establishment of international agreements promoting forest preservation.

Despite the high cost involved, forest preservation brings long-term benefits to the environment and communities dependent on forests. The report also highlights the need for a collaborative effort from governments, businesses, and civil society organizations to end deforestation by 2030.

This alert underscores the urgent need for actions to preserve forests, combat climate change, and protect biodiversity.
